Who is Bella Hadid?

Si el 2015 ha sido el año en el que las BFFs Gigi Hadid y Kendall Jenner se han consagrado como reinas indiscutibles de las pasarelas y de las redes sociales, este año se suma al grupo la enigmática modelo Bella Hadid.

Ella es la hermana pequeña de la mismísima Gigi, y a pesar de su juventud -tiene 19 años-, firmas como Balmain, Moschino y Tommy Hilfiger ya se han rendido a su belleza, así como diseñadores de la talla de Karl Lagerfeld, quien ha querido contar con la joven para su desfile de Alta Costura de Chanel, en el que también participaron Gigi y Kendall.

De ojos claros y mirada penetrante, Bella es mucho más que la versión morena de Gigi. Y es que, a pesar de que el parecido es innegable, sus marcadas facciones, acentuadas por una melena negra que suele llevar recogida tras la orejas, contrasta con la belleza más dulce de su hermana mayor, y de hecho, recuerda bastante a la de una de las caras más famosas del cine: Jennifer Lawrence.

Y al margen de parecidos y comparaciones que, dicen, ser odiosas, Bella ha sabido hacerse un hueco en la moda gracias también a sus looks de street style, que están arrasando tanto entre sus incondicionales fans (suma más de dos millones y medio de seguidores en Instagram -@bellahadid-) como en las revistas de moda. Bella apuesta para el día a día por outfits en el que los jeans suelen ser su mejor aliado, mientras que para la noche se decanta por un look de lo más sexy, acentuando su silueta con transparencias y aberturas estratégicas.

If in 2015 BFFs Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner conquered the fashion industry and became media stars thanks to Social Media, 2016 welcomes a new member to the group: model Bella Hadid.

She is the younger sister of media sensation Gigi, and despite being only 19 years old, high-end brands such as Balmain, Moschino and Tommy Hilfiger have included her on their fashion shows, and renowned designers such as Karl Lagerfeld wanted her on the Chanel Haute Couture catwalk.

But Bella is more than the brunette lookalike of Gigi. Although they are very similar, Bella's beauty features, enhanced by that dark long hair tucked behind her ears, contrast with the sweet face of her sister, and inevitably reminds to actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Comparisons aside, Bella Hadid has managed to stand out from the fashion crowd and her street style looks are applauded by both unconditional fans (she has more than 2.5 million followers on Instagram -@bellahadid-) and fashion magazines. She is fond of jeans and a sporty style for the day, while for the night she opts for enhancing her silhouette with see-through pieces and cut-outs that add a sexy and provocative touch to her looks.

Kendall Jenner for Mango

Mango presenta su nueva campaña primavera/verano 2016 de la mano de Kendall Jenner y envuelta en la polémica tan solo unos días después de publicar las imágenes.

Y es que trabajar con Kendall, una de las modelos más buscadas, adoradas e imitadas (tiene casi 47 millones de seguidores solo en Instagram) dentro y fuera de las redes sociales ya prometía crear un gran revuelo mediático. Lo que probablemente no se imaginaba ni Mango ni la propia Kendall es que la polémica ha salpicado de lleno a la campaña Tribal Spirit, que ha sido castigada por los usuarios por emplear una modelo blanca para representar una colección inspirada en la sabana africana.

Mango no ha realizado ninguna declaración al respecto, aunque esta campaña suponía el comienzo de una nueva etapa que integra más a la firma en el mundo digital, siendo la primera vez que no emitirá catálogos físicos. Y este no será el único cambio. Además de añadir a Kendall a la lista de importantes celebridades que han protagonizado las campañas de la firma española, de la talla de Kate Moss, su amiga Cara Delevingne, o las hermanas Cruz, Mango por primera vez no desfilará en la 080 Barcelona.

Working with Kendall, one of the most sought-after, loved and admired models on earth will always make global headlines (she has nearly 47m Instagram followers). But what neither Mango nor Kendall had probably foreseen was the backlash the Spanish brand is facing following the release of the images of the new campaign. Choosing Kendall, a white model, as the image of a collection inspired by the African Savannah has sparked controversy.

Mango hasn't commented about it yet, although this campaign was supposed to mark the beginning of a new and more digital-focused phase for the Spanish brand (for the first time the campaign will be totally online). And this is not the only change. In addition to adding Kendall to the list of celebrities that have been part of the Mango cast over the years, such as Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne or Penélope and Mónica Cruz, Mango will not show their collection at 080 Barcelona.

Outfit of the day - 2016

¡Feliz año a todos!

No hay mejor manera de empezar el 2016 que con este post sobre Gigi Hadid. Y es que la modelo se ha convertido en una sensación mediática dentro y fuera de las pasarelas no solo por su enigmática belleza, sino también por ese carácter fuerte con el que defiende su trabajo y su cuerpo (recordad aquel post en Instagram en el que calló a aquellos que se metían con su silueta. Sí, por increíble que parezca).

Su estilo es el reflejo de esa personalidad que ha llevado a Gigi ha la cumbre del mundo fashion. Este look además es uno de los outfits que más veremos en este año y que ya comenzó a arrasar en 2015: vestido midi que recorre la silueta del cuerpo acentuando las curvas de la mujer.
