Mango presenta su nueva campaña primavera/verano 2016 de la mano de Kendall Jenner y envuelta en la polémica tan solo unos días después de publicar las imágenes.

Y es que trabajar con Kendall, una de las modelos más buscadas, adoradas e imitadas (tiene casi 47 millones de seguidores solo en Instagram) dentro y fuera de las redes sociales ya prometía crear un gran revuelo mediático. Lo que probablemente no se imaginaba ni Mango ni la propia Kendall es que la polémica ha salpicado de lleno a la campaña Tribal Spirit, que ha sido castigada por los usuarios por emplear una modelo blanca para representar una colección inspirada en la sabana africana.

Mango no ha realizado ninguna declaración al respecto, aunque esta campaña suponía el comienzo de una nueva etapa que integra más a la firma en el mundo digital, siendo la primera vez que no emitirá catálogos físicos. Y este no será el único cambio. Además de añadir a Kendall a la lista de importantes celebridades que han protagonizado las campañas de la firma española, de la talla de Kate Moss, su amiga Cara Delevingne, o las hermanas Cruz, Mango por primera vez no desfilará en la 080 Barcelona.

Working with Kendall, one of the most sought-after, loved and admired models on earth will always make global headlines (she has nearly 47m Instagram followers). But what neither Mango nor Kendall had probably foreseen was the backlash the Spanish brand is facing following the release of the images of the new campaign. Choosing Kendall, a white model, as the image of a collection inspired by the African Savannah has sparked controversy.

Mango hasn't commented about it yet, although this campaign was supposed to mark the beginning of a new and more digital-focused phase for the Spanish brand (for the first time the campaign will be totally online). And this is not the only change. In addition to adding Kendall to the list of celebrities that have been part of the Mango cast over the years, such as Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne or Penélope and Mónica Cruz, Mango will not show their collection at 080 Barcelona.
